Where does the CALD ageing population fit into the national health reforms?

Our population is ageing, but our CALD population is ageing even more rapidly. Aged care has been recognised as an important component of the health reforms, but what about the CALD ageing population?

  • What policies will be in place to ensure that equitable and accessible services are provided?
  • What resources will be allocated to support clients with low English proficiency?
  • How do you create a culturally competent aged care workforce?

We discuss these questions in the context of demographics, policy development, advocacy and service provision.
