This project undertook a qualitative study of the sexual and reproductive health needs of international students in Victoria, using key informant and in-depth interviews, focus groups and targeted literature search methods in a rapid assessment framework.
We looked at both heterosexual and same-sex attracted students, with a keen eye on finding the best channels and methods to reach such a large population (172,000 in Victoria alone, according to September 2010 stats from AEI).
The report is currently under review prior to approval for release, and MHSS is currently recruiting partners to pilot an innovative health promotion package designed to raise awareness of sexual and reproductive health among students.
